JGU Scotland HUB Honorary Bagpiper: Sascha Koch MacDonald

Sascha Koch MacDonald is the Scotland HUB's first Honorary Bagpiper

Sascha Koch MacDonald studied music, philosophy and educational theory at the University of Music and the Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz.
Due to his love for Scotland and being related to the Scottish Clan MacDonald he has started playing the Great Highland Bagpipes, being taught by Thomas Zöller and Allan MacDonald of Glenuig.
Sascha Koch MacDonald is the Vice Commissioner of Clan Donald in Germany.
In 2021 he received the National Progression Award "Scottish Bagpipes" (Scottish Qualification Authority Level 3) and in 2023 Level 4 (SQA) from the National Piping Centre Glasgow.

As a Highland Bagpiper he took part at the Memorial Service for the late Queen Elizabeth II at St. Augustine of Canterbury Wiesbaden in 2022.
